Apply for Membership on FDA Advisory Committees

Numerous Vacancies Exist

As part of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) ongoing efforts to recruit qualified experts with minimal conflicts of interest who are interested in serving on FDA advisory committees, the FDA is requesting nominations for members to serve on its advisory committees.

Any interested person may nominate one or more qualified persons for one or more of the advisory committees or advisory panels. Self-nominations are also accepted. The FDA has a special interest in ensuring the adequate representation of women, minority groups, and individuals with disabilities on its advisory committees and therefore encourages nominations of qualified candidates from these groups.

Potential candidates will be required to provide detailed information on matters such as financial holdings, employment, and research grants and/or contracts to permit evaluation of possible sources of conflict of interest.

Individuals nominated as scientific members must be technically qualified experts in their field (e.g., clinical medicine, engineering, biological and physical sciences, biostatistics, food sciences) and have experience interpreting complex data. Candidates must be able to analyze detailed scientific data and understand its public health significance.

To investigate whether serving on an FDA Advisory Panel is right for you, call (301) 827-1220 or visit the FDA Web site at www.fda.gov/oc/advisory/.
