Representatives of the ACCP student chapter at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy – Bradenton Campus receive the 2016 Outstanding Student Chapter Award from ACCP President Terry Seaton.
Congratulations to the ACCP student chapter at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy for winning the 2016 ACCP Outstanding Student Chapter Award.
This award recognizes an ACCP student chapter that has demonstrated strength in leadership, dedication to excellence in patient care, and a passion for professional development through its activities. The chapter’s activities should be consistent with ACCP’s core values of extending the frontiers of clinical pharmacy and promoting dedication to excellence in patient care, research, and education. The chapter should also demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively within the health care environment by working with other health disciplines on events that involve patient care, research, or education.
The winning chapter was recognized at the Student Chapter Forum during the ACCP Annual Meeting on Monday, October 24. Faculty and students from the chapter who attended included Dr. Lana Hochmuth (chapter faculty liaison) and Neda Kalali (student chapter president). ACCP President Terry Seaton presented them with a commemorative plaque and a $1000 cash award.
Outstanding Student Chapter Member Award Winners
In addition to applying for the Outstanding Student Chapter Award, each ACCP student chapter had the opportunity to select a winner of the Outstanding Student Chapter Member Award. This award recognizes a student who has enhanced student involvement from his or her chapter in ACCP at the local, state (when applicable), or national level and who has expanded the presence of ACCP through community engagement, education promotion, research opportunities, and/or professional stewardship. The activities of the selected student should address ACCP’s core values of extending the frontiers of clinical pharmacy and promoting dedication to excellence in patient care, research, and education.
