Specific research areas include quantitative pharmacology in HIV treatment, prevention, and cure. The fellow will gain experience in all areas of research ranging from grant writing to manuscript submission, and is expected to present research findings at scientific meetings. The fellow will become proficient with the conduct of early phase clinical investigations, and the use of preclinical model systems (cell and tissue culture, animal models), and bioanalytical (LC-MS/MS) and molecular (PCR, QTAP, IHC) techniques. Course work (statistics, pharmacometrics, clinical trial design, research ethics), and opportunities for teaching/clinical service are available. Prior residency experience is required.
