Neonatal and Pediatric Sepsis, the latest release in ACCP’s new Pediatric Self-Assessment Program (PedSAP), presents evidence-based updates for the management of neonates and pediatric patients with various infectious diseases.
Neonatal and Pediatric Sepsis carries a total of 13.5 continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits. Content was developed under the leadership of Faculty Panel Chair Kirsten H. Ohler, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCPPS.
Chapters in the first module include an overview of the management of congenital infections and an update on fungal infections in pediatric patients. Chapters in the second module cover central line–associated bloodstream infections and principles of antimicrobial stewardship in pediatric populations. The Clinical and Practice Updates module provides interactive cases on neonatal sepsis and sepsis in the immunocompromised pediatric patient, as well as an on-demand webcast with antimicrobial stewardship strategies for pediatric pharmacists in their every day practice.
All PedSAP chapters are fully referenced, with online links to literature compilers such as PubMed. In addition, hypertext links provide ready access to clinical practice guidelines, additional readings, and other resources. PedSAP releases are designed not only to provide BCPPS recertification credits but also to update the pediatric clinical practitioner and improve patient outcomes.
