Plan Now to Attend the 2010 ACCP Annual Meeting

October 17–20, 2010, in Austin, Texas

October in Austin: Temperatures are in the comfortable low ‘80s as you explore Austin’s miles of hike and bike trails. The cool evenings are just right for checking out some of the nearly two hundred live music venues that have earned Austin the title of Live Music Capital of the World.

This is the backdrop for ACCP’s 2010 Annual Meeting. The meeting opens with a keynote address by Christopher M. O’Connor, MD, who will examine the current state of clinical research, and efforts underway to train new scientists capable of performing high level research that will significantly impact patient care. Dr. O’Connor is Director of the Duke University Heart Failure Program and Associate Director of the Duke Clinical Research Institute.

The 2010 Annual Meeting will offer many more high-level education programs in these curricular tracks:

  • Pain Management: Current Controversies in Ambulatory Care
  • Clinical Controversies in the Management of Obese Patients
  • Experiential Education: Maximizing the Practice Based Experience
  • The FDA Safety Sentinel Initiative

The lineup of education activities also includes programs within each of ACCP’s four Academy certificate programs, and PRN-developed Focus Sessions.

The Annual Meeting schedule of events will again include scientific paper platform presentations and poster sessions, the Town Hall meeting, and pharmacy industry forum exhibits. New this year, ACCP will conduct the semi-finals and final rounds of the first-annual ACCP Clinical Pharmacy Challenge for students (see related article.)

Registration for the 2010 Annual Meeting will open in June. Watch the ACCP Web site for details.

See you in Austin!
