Overview
Regional One Health is an academic medical center embedded in the Medical District in Memphis, Tennessee, and is a partner hospital for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). Regional One Health is home to many centers of excellence, including a level 1 trauma center, a level 3 neonatal ICU, an ABA-accredited burn center, and the Diggs Kraus Comprehensive Sickle Cell Clinic.
The outpatient clinics at Regional One Health house the largest internal medicine teaching clinic for the University of Tennessee medicine and medicine/pediatrics medical residencies as well as numerous subspecialities, including cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, hematology/oncology, infectious diseases (including general ID, HCV, HIV, and PrEP), nephrology, neurology, and pulmonology. Several surgical specialties are also housed in the same building. The ambulatory clinics at Regional One Health serve the entire Memphis population through several outlying family medicine practice sites.
Regional One Health has several pharmacy residency programs, including a PGY1, a PGY1/PGY2 HSPAL, a PGY2 critical care, and the PGY2 ambulatory care.
The PGY2 in ambulatory care at Regional One has four resident positions and allows residents to gain comprehensive knowledge in many areas of ambulatory care. Residents graduate with the clinical and operational skillset needed to start their own clinical service or step into an existing role. Graduates have gone on to work in specialty roles as well as primary care and transitions of care.

Why Train at ROH?
Having completed my PGY1 at Regional One Health, I can speak to the caring, yet challenging work environment that fosters clinical independence and long-term friendship and mentorship. Regional One Health’s passion for serving the underserved is what drives me to continue my work here. We often see patients with advanced disease states and limited access to health care. Many of the patients are uninsured, and the work we do with the community and these patients is truly inspiring to be part of.
