Overview
Ochsner Health is the busiest transplant center in the Gulf South region, performing around 400 transplants a year with a strong focus on liver, kidney, and kidney/pancreas transplants, as well as heart transplants and management of left ventricular assist devices. Lung transplants and pediatric heart and liver transplants are also performed at the institution, as well as living donor kidney and liver transplants. Nine clinical pharmacists are dedicated to solid organ transplant pharmacologic management (six abdominal, one lung, and two heart transplant) who work alongside a multidisciplinary team.
