Abstracts must describe the development, delivery, justification, or documentation of new or innovative clinical pharmacy services. Abstracts that address components of the ACCP Standards of Practice for Clinical Pharmacists (see www.accp.com/standards) and/or describe efforts to develop, advance, or position clinical pharmacists to optimize patient care are encouraged. Abstracts may be descriptive and do not need to include an evaluative component.

Abstracts must summarize quantitative or qualitative findings from completed research. (Descriptions of planned research efforts or preliminary data will not be accepted.) Acceptable research types include basic, clinical, translational, dissemination/implementation, or educational research. Topics should appeal to a clinical pharmacy audience and may include areas such as:

• Drug metabolism
• Education/pedagogy
• Health services
• Medication safety
• Patient/population outcomes
• Pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics
• Pharmacoeconomics and pharmacoepidemiology
• Pharmacogenomics
• Pharmacology or pharmacotherapy

Abstracts reporting in vitro or animal research are welcome.

ACCP Best Poster Competitions

Student Best Poster Competition

To be considered for this award:

1. Research must have been conducted by the primary author while a first professional degree student (B.S. Pharm or Pharm.D.).
2. The primary author must be the presenter of the poster.
3. Abstract submission must occur within one year of the primary author's completion of first professional degree.
4. Papers must represent completed research and be submitted under the Original Research category. Papers submitted in the Student Research in Progress category are not eligible for this competition.

Resident/Fellow Best Poster Competition

To be considered for this award:

1. Research must have been conducted by the primary author while a post-Pharm.D. resident or fellow trainee.
2. The primary author must be the presenter of the poster.
3. Abstract submission must occur within one year of the primary author's completion of training program.
4. Papers must represent completed research and be submitted under the Original Research category. Papers submitted in the Resident and Fellow Research in Progress category are not eligible for this competition.

Abstracts must describe a systematic review adhering to the guidelines and definitions established by Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA for Abstracts statement) and include the 12-items published in the PRISMA for Abstracts checklist (http://www.prisma-statement.org/Extensions/Abstracts).

Abstracts must be structured with the PRISMA for Abstracts format: Background, methods, results, discussion, and other.

Abstracts will be evaluated based on merits of the 12 PRISMA for Abstracts checklist items: Title, objectives, eligibility criteria, information sources, risk of bias, included studies, synthesis of results, description of the effect, strengths and limitations of evidence, interpretation, funding, and registration.

Abstracts presented elsewhere, but important to clinical pharmacy, are encouraged as "Encore" submissions (see Encore Presentation details below).

The presenting author may change, but the author must be an author on the original abstract. Important note: There is no word count limit for Encore abstracts.

Eligibility and application:

• Current fellows and those who have completed their fellowship training in the past year are eligible to apply.
• Research must be complete at the time of application and encore presentations are allowed.
• Eligible applicants should submit their research abstract by 5:00 p.m. CDT, Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
• Abstracts submitted for consideration of the Research Fellowship Platform Presentations must follow the abstract structure and instructions for one of these three ACCP submission types: Original Research, Encore Presentation or Systematic Reviews/Meta-Analyses (please expand the collapsed abstract category above for details on structure of each category).

Those selected will each have a set time on Saturday afternoon, October 17, to present their research prior to a moderated discussion. If you are interested in the opportunity to present a platform presentation of your work but have already submitted it in a different 2026 Annual Meeting abstract category please contact Sheldon Holstad and it can be included in this platform opportunity.
