Demystifying Student Debt: The Anatomy of Student Loans & Repayment Strategies

3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

This session will help demystify the evolving landscape of student loan repayment strategies, guiding you a step closer to mapping out the best plan for your situation. Participants will learn about the differences between subsidized and unsubsidized loans, compare federal and private loan options, and understand how interest accrues and capitalizes. With the recent passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, major changes have been made to federal student loan programs—particularly for graduate and professional students. These include the elimination of most existing income-driven repayment plans and the introduction of the Repayment Assistance Plan (RAP). Additionally, new borrowing caps for professional degrees will take effect starting July 2026. By the end of this session, you’ll be equipped with the tools to make informed decisions and take control of your loan and repayment journey.
