Available for 1.50 hours of CPE creditActivity Number: 0217-0000-25-145-L01-PActivity Type: A Knowledge-Based ActivityPrecision medicine, including the use of pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing, is becoming more common in clinical practice, and a variety of evidence-based resources have been developed to help guide prescribing decisions with these factors in mind. However, drug response is multifactorial and may be impacted by numerous patient characteristics or other factors such as organ function, drug interactions, or other conditions, all of which may require enhanced monitoring and modification of genetic considerations. It can be challenging for pharmacists to navigate the application of PGx results in these scenarios. The goals of this session are to (1) discuss current and future strategies for managing precision medicine considerations with other patient factors, (2) explore the available evidence for these unique considerations, and (3) discuss strategies for managing these scenarios in clinical practice.
Learning Objectives1. Discuss multifactorial influences on drug response to deliver precision medicine.
2. Identify tools for assessing precision medicine strategies in complex cases.
3. Examine clinical scenarios involving the application of multifactorial tools to optimize therapy.
4. Describe best practice strategies for integrating effective precision medicine in patient care.
5. Discuss emerging technologies for improving integration of precision medicine in patient care.
