Sunday, October 19, 2025 from 2:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. CDT at Greenway ABCDE, 2nd Floor
This session will highlight the newly published Consensus Recommendations for Integration of Critical Care Pharmacists on ICU Teams, led by the American College of Clinical Pharmacy Critical Care PRN and endorsed by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the Institute for Safe Medication Practices.
The integration of clinical pharmacists into intensive care unit (ICU) teams is increasingly recognized as a vital component of high-quality critical care. This session will provide an overview of consensus recommendation development and organizational endorsement, then a review of practical tools and implementation resources, including structured guidance for institutions, outcome and process metrics, and strategies for advocacy and research. Attendees will gain actionable insights into how to apply these tools to support pharmacist integration and improve patient outcomes.
After the consensus paper overview, a moderated panel discussion featuring contributors to the document will address real-world implementation challenges, share institutional experiences, and engage with audience questions.
