This opening session will feature incoming and outgoing presidential addresses, prestigious awards, and keynote address featuring Julie Haizlip, MD, MAPP. A pediatric critical care physician and educator, Haizlip's work focuses on transforming healthcare culture through positive psychology and teamwork. She emphasizes the importance of “mattering”—helping clinicians feel valued and significant—to address burnout and improve well-being. Her work in interprofessional education promotes better communication and collaboration across healthcare teams, recognizing that effective teamwork is essential for high-quality patient care. Through research, teaching, and leadership at the University of Virginia, Haizlip aims to build more supportive, connected healthcare environments that benefit both providers and patients.
