Available for 1.50 hours of CPE credit
Activity Number: 0204-9999-26-365-L01-P
Activity Type: An Application-Based Activity

Ketamine is used for many unique ED indications including analgesia, procedural sedation, airway management (RSI), severe agitation, and refractory seizures. Differences exist in dose, intent, and risk profile by indication. This advanced, case-based session will guide ED pharmacists through common and high-risk ketamine use scenarios, emphasizing indication, sequencing (other medications), monitoring, and risk mitigation. The purpose of this session is to strengthen ED pharmacists’ ability to apply ketamine deliberately and safely across diverse ED indications.

This activity is approved for Board Certified Emergency Medicine Pharmacist (BCEMP) recertification credit.

The BCEMP Clinical Sessions are part of the professional development program for the recertification of board-certified Emergency Medicine pharmacists by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties and jointly provided by ACCP and the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). In order to earn the BCEMP recertification credit, participants must attend the session, claim the continuing pharmacy education credit, and pass the associated posttest. Access to the Clinical Sessions posttests will be available on December 16, 2026, at www.accp.com/myaccount to anyone who has purchased access to the BCEMP posttests. For participants who have not purchased access to the posttests, access can be purchased until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, at the ACCP Registration Desk. The deadline to submit posttests for these sessions will be December 14, 2027.
