Structured consensus methods, often underutilized in pharmacy, offer a powerful way to fill these gaps. This session introduces the Delphi Method and Nominal Group Technique (NGT) and shows how to apply them in real-world pharmacy practice, research, and implementation challenges. Learn how to select the right method for your scenario, design a rigorous consensus process, and generate and prioritize recommendations while minimizing bias and group influence.
Participants will also gain practical strategies to strengthen the credibility, transparency, and impact of their work using established reporting standards.
Learning Objectives1. Select the most appropriate consensus method (Delphi or Nominal Group Technique) for a given pharmacy practice, research, or implementation problem.
2. Design key elements of a consensus study, including panel composition, consensus thresholds, and data collection strategies.
3. Apply consensus methods to generate, refine, and prioritize recommendations while minimizing bias and group influence.
4. Use established reporting standards for reporting consensus studies.
