Activity Type: A Knowledge-Based Activity

This session will enhance pharmacists’ knowledge of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), including their oncologic use and key considerations during the pre- and post-transplantation phases. As the role of ICIs in various cancers continues to evolve, it is essential for pharmacists to understand the impact of these agents on transplant care to provide informed recommendations to the multidisciplinary team. As medication experts, pharmacists play an important role in assessing the risks and benefits of ICIs in the phases of the transplant process. Learners will have the opportunity to engage with presenters through real-world examples along with audience response and multiple-choice questions to illustrate the challenges and successes in this emerging area of pharmacotherapy.
