Target Audience

The target audience is pharmacists providing care to patients with infectious diseases.

Symposium Goal

The symposium goal is to advance pharmacists’ knowledge and clinical skills on the management of antimicrobial resistance. It will engage pharmacists in activities that help them to: 

  1. Discuss the evolution and mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance. 
  2. Interpret antibiogram data to evaluate resistance and guide antimicrobial selection.
  3. Evaluate effectiveness of antimicrobial therapy for multidrug-resistant pathogens.
  4. Recommend evidence-based management strategies for multidrug-resistant infections.

Registration fees are based on the World Bank Classification of economies as follows:

  • High income economies: US $100.00
  • Upper and lower middle income economies: US $75.00
  • Low income economies: US $50.00

Requests for cancellation must be made in writing and faxed to ACCP, fax: (913) 492-0088, or by email to [email protected].

  • An administrative fee of $50 will be charged for registrations cancelled before February 8, 2022.
  • Registration fees cannot be refunded for cancellations received on or after February 8, 2022.

Computer and internet access is required to complete the symposium. Instructional materials will be available in various formats:

  1. Adobe PDF files. PDF files can be viewed on any desktop/laptop computer with Adobe Reader installed.

  2. MP3 audio files. MP3 format is compatible with most portable audio players, smart phones, tablets, desktop/laptop audio software, and certain car stereos. Information on accessing MP3 files is available at www.accp.com/store/audio.aspx.
  3. MP4 video files. MP4 is a standardized file format supported by almost all video players, including the default video players for Windows and macOS. Android and iPhone also support MP4 files.

System requirements to participate in the virtual sessions using Zoom Meetings are:

  • An internet connection – broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE)
  • Speakers and a microphone – built-in, USB plug-in, or wireless Bluetooth
  • A webcam or HD webcam - built-in, USB plug-in, or:
    • An HD cam or HD camcorder with a video-capture card
    • Virtual camera software for use with broadcasting software like OBS or IP cameras
