This webinar will provide a comprehensive review of the latest advances in the understanding and treatment of pericarditis. The session will begin with an overview of pericarditis, including the underlying pathophysiological mechanisms, diagnostic criteria, and clinical presentation. Participants will then explore current guideline-directed therapies for acute and recurrent pericarditis, with an emphasis on their practical application in patient management. Finally, the presentation will highlight new and emerging therapies, reviewing recent evidence supporting their role in the management of recurrent, incessant, and chronic pericarditis. This session is designed to enhance clinicians’ ability to provide evidence-based, personalized care for patients with pericarditis.
Learning Objectives:
- Define pericarditis, including the pathophysiological mechanisms of pericardial inflammation and associated syndrome.
- Describe criteria for diagnosis of pericarditis.
- Summarize current guideline-based therapies for acute and recurrent pericarditis and correlate them to patient care.
