The ACCP Foundation Board of Directors (BOD) approved a new strategic plan for implementation in 2026 and the following years. The Foundation’s mission is to improve human health by supporting and disseminating pharmacotherapeutic and clinical pharmacy research, scholarship, and practice. The Foundation fulfills its mission by delivering value to its stakeholders, advancing scholarship through ACCP’s official journals, supporting investigators, and funding research.
Recognizing the need for larger grant award amounts, the BOD recently approved increased funding for individual Junior and Student/Resident awards, up to $80,000 for a junior investigator and up to $20,000 for a student or resident investigator grant. The Futures Grant online application portal will open May 15, 2026, and completed applications will be due no later than September 1, 2026.
The ACCP Foundation Mentored Research Investigator Training (MeRIT) and Focused Investigator Training (FIT) programs will be held June 1-5 on the campus of the UNC Eshelman College of Pharmacy in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The MeRIT Program seeks candidates who are pharmacy faculty or practitioners who would like assistance with developing the abilities necessary to conduct investigator-initiated research. The FIT Program’s ideal applicants are research-focused pharmacists who are ready to undergo intensive research proposal development work in preparation for a submission/resubmission to the NIH or other major funding source. For more information about the FIT and MeRIT programs, or to download an application form, visit the Foundation’s Investigator Development page at www.accpfoundation.org/investigator/.
