ACCP remains committed to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging (DEIA) through initiatives that strengthen community, create meaningful connections, and expand opportunities for members across the profession.
ACCP’s affinity groups, officially launched at the 2025 ACCP Annual Meeting, create opportunities for identity-based groups that foster belonging. The first 2 approved groups, the Black Diaspora Affinity Group and the Middle Eastern North African (MENA) Affinity Group, have a growing membership and continue to invite new members to join.
Interest continues to grow in additional affinity groups. ACCP members are currently exploring the development of an LGBTQIA+ Affinity Group and are seeking member feedback to help shape its future direction and programming.
Members interested in joining an existing group or learning how to establish a new group can visit https://www.accp.com/affinity.
The DEIA Committee also continues to expand access to career opportunities. ACCP and the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA) will host their fifth annual Virtual Residency and Fellowship Showcase on November 10 and 12 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. (CST). This free virtual event connects residency and fellowship recruiters with a diverse pool of highly qualified pharmacy candidates while reducing financial and geographic barriers to participation. Participation is open to all candidates and recruiters, regardless of ACCP or SNPhA membership status.
These initiatives, among many others, reflect ACCP’s ongoing commitment to building an inclusive professional community and creating pathways for success for current and future clinical pharmacists.
