The Pharmacotherapy Publications, Inc. (PPI) Board of Directors has been busy implementing initiatives to further ACCP’s mission and strategic priorities. In line with the College’s strategic priorities to advance pharmacotherapy, support scholars, and enhance PPI’s publications and services, the PPI Board of Directors has developed several programs that will be showcased at the ACCP Annual Meeting in Hollywood, Florida, October 23–26, 2016.

The ACCP Business and Town Hall Meeting will be held Sunday, October 23, 2:30 p.m. – 4:15 p.m., where PPI’s editor-in-chief, C. Lindsay DeVane, Pharm.D., will report on the state of the College’s journal, Pharmacotherapy.

The PPI Board of Directors will co-host a joint PPI and Research Institute Open House on Tuesday, October 25, 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. This session will allow meeting attendees to meet with members of the Board of Directors and the Scientific Editorial Council and learn how to get more involved with Pharmacotherapy, the official journal of ACCP. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact and receive information in a small-group/roundtable format on the following topics:

  • Developing manuscripts of interest
  • Serving as a pharmacotherapy reviewer
  • Asking questions of the editor
  • Becoming a Pharmacotherapy editorial board member

The Open House schedule can be found at www.accp.com/meetings/am16/schedule.

Also on Tuesday, October 25, from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. after the Open House, the Board of Directors will host an educational session focused on the fundamentals of providing excellent peer reviews. During this active learning session, Pharmacotherapy Scientific Editor Stuart T. Haines will interact with attendees to construct peer reviews, provide appropriate feedback to editors regarding acceptability, and determine when to decline an invitation to review.

More details can be found at www.accp.com/meetings/am16/schedule.

In addition to the many programs highlighted above, the PPI Scientific Editorial Council and the PPI Editorial Board will hold business meetings at the ACCP Annual Meeting with the goal of further advancing the journal’s strategic initiatives.

We encourage you to attend these sessions to learn about the accomplishments and future directions for Pharmacotherapy and how you can get involved as a scientific author, reviewer, and scholar. More importantly, learn why Pharmacotherapy is the place to submit and publish your scholarly work.
