Representatives of the ACCP student chapter at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy receive the 2017 Outstanding Student Chapter Award from ACCP President Marcia L. Buck.
Congratulations to the ACCP student chapter at The University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy, winner of the 2017 ACCP Outstanding Student Chapter Award.
This award recognizes an ACCP student chapter that has demonstrated strength in leadership, dedication to excellence in patient care, and a passion for professional development through its activities. The chapter’s activities should be consistent with ACCP’s core values of extending the frontiers of clinical pharmacy and promoting dedication to excellence in patient care, research, and education. The chapter should also demonstrate its ability to work collaboratively within the health care environment by interfacing with other health disciplines on events that involve patient care, research, or education.
The winning chapter was recognized at the Student Chapter Forum at the ACCP Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 7. Faculty and students from the chapter, including Dr. Christopher R. Frei (chapter faculty liaison), Lindsey Groff (student chapter president), and Noor Atiyah (student chapter president-elect), were in attendance. ACCP President Marcia L. Buck presented the chapter with a commemorative plaque and a $1000 cash award.
Outstanding Student Chapter Member Award Winners
In addition to applying for the Outstanding Student Chapter Award, each ACCP student chapter had the opportunity to select a winner for the Outstanding Student Chapter Member Award. The objective of this award is to recognize a student who has enhanced student involvement in his or her ACCP chapter at the local, state (when applicable), or national level and who has expanded the presence of ACCP through community engagement, education promotion, research opportunities, and/or professional stewardship. The activities of the selected student should address ACCP’s core values of extending the frontiers of clinical pharmacy and promoting dedication to excellence in patient care, research, and education.
