ACCP Report

New Offerings for BPS Credit Available

ACCP is proud to offer two new Clinical Reasoning Series programs available for BPS credit. Both programs offer 6.0 total hours of credit broken into two 3-hour segments. One program is dual-accredited for the BCCCP and BCPS specialties; the other is dual-accredited for the BCPPS and BCPS specialties. The programs were originally developed to be presented live as part of the 2021 Annual Meeting, and the contributing faculty members did an outstanding job of pivoting to the prerecorded format. Available information regarding the necessary passing scores is posted as part of the individual bookstore items; any outstanding information will be available by December 15.

The dual-accredited BCCCP and BCPS program focuses on two main areas of COVID-19 controversies in critical care: (1) the risk-benefit considerations of therapies that target inflammation and the immune system and (2) therapies that may be considered to prevent or treat complications of COVID-19 that involve the coagulation cascade. The program was designed with practical considerations in mind, and content is reinforced through a case-based approach. Given the ever-evolving nature of COVID-19 information and treatment strategies, this program will only be available for BPS credit for 6 months. The last day it can be completed to receive board certification credit is May 15, 2022. Regular continuing education credit will be available until November 15, 2024. Learn more about this program and purchase access to the materials at www.accp.com/store/product.aspx?pc=CRSCC21G.

The dual-accredited BCPPS and BCPS program focuses on two areas tied to recent advances in therapeutic drug monitoring strategies and individualization of effective drug therapy regimens: (1) application of advanced therapeutic drug monitoring of select antimicrobials and (2) use of pharmacogenomics to optimize medication efficacy. The program was developed to provide a mixture of lectures and case-based applications to reinforce content retention. This program will be available for BPS credit for 12 months. The last day it can be completed to receive board certification credit is November 15, 2022. Regular continuing education credit will be available until November 15, 2024.
