Call for Experts: NASEM Update of Standards for Systematic Reviews

Deadline Is August 4

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) is seeking experts to participate in a new consensus study that will evaluate the current standards for high-quality systematic reviews for comparative effectiveness research and deliver updated guidance according to advances in evidence synthesis, including engagement, technology, and methodology. This report will build on the 2011 report “Finding What Works in Health Care: Updating Standards for Systematic Reviews.” The study committee will produce updated systematic review standards and identify areas for additional research. NASEM staff are looking for expertise particularly in the following areas:

  • Systematic reviews and evidence synthesis methods
  • Research study design standards and evaluation
  • Patient, community, and stakeholder engagement
  • Biostatistics and epidemiology
  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Research ethics and transparency
  • Chronic disease end points
  • Clinical and health services research
  • Public health and health policy
  • Health care service delivery
