ACCP members and leaders made a significant impact at the NPhA/SNPhA Annual Convention in Rockville, Maryland, showcasing expertise, leadership, and a commitment to advancing health equity.
ACCP co-sponsored a student session with the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) titled “Building and Sustaining a Clinical Pharmacy Career.” The session featured Amie Brooks, Pharm.D., FCCP, BCACP, CAE, ACCP Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives, and Anita Siu, Pharm.D., BCPPS, ACCP member and chair of the BPS Board of Directors, who shared insights on career development, leadership, and professional growth.
Omolola A. Adeoye-Olatunde, Pharm.D., MS, chair of ACCP’s Health Equity PRN, presented “Advancing Community-Engaged Research” and “The Academic Pharmacist Advancing Health Equity.” Dhakrit Jesse Rungkitwattanakul, Pharm.D., FASN, chair of the Nephrology PRN, presented “Nephrotoxin Stewardship to Prevent Kidney Disease Progression in Black Patients.”
Anita Siu, ACCP member and Chair of the BPS Board of Directors, and Amie Brooks, ACCP Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives at the NPhA/SNPhA Annual Convention.ACCP’s Black Diaspora Affinity Group leader, Briana Murray, Pharm.D., BCACP, served as chair of the NPhA Bylaws and Resolutions Committee. Additional member presentations included Daphne Smith Marsh, Pharm.D., BC-ADM, CDCES, on improving health equity in diabetes care; Nicholas Rebold, Pharm.D., MPH, BCIDP, AAHIVP, on a pharmacist-led antiretroviral formulary protocol and HIV management; and Trishia E. Shaw, Pharm.D., BCACP, BCPS, on the pharmacist’s role in reducing disparities in maternal health outcomes.
