Gain a strong foundation in key research methodologies with this curated bundle designed for clinical pharmacists who are interested in strengthening their research skills. Through four engaging sessions, participants will explore essential topics including:  

  • Introduction to Survey Research: This session provides an overview of survey development and methods. A practical session is provided to allow the participant an opportunity to develop a brief survey based on the content discussed.
  • Introduction to Observational Studies: This session describes the basic steps to conduct observational research, observational study designs (cohort and case-control) commonly used in clinical effectiveness studies, and threats to internal validity (bias and confounding). 
  • Introduction to Education Research and Qualitative Methods: This session describes the basic steps and common research designs utilized in the study of pharmacy education and review related publications from the literature. An overview of qualitative methods and how they might be applied to study pharmacy and pharmacy education is included.  
  • Practical Application of Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Science: This session provides a practical introduction to dissemination and implementation (D&I) science, walks the audience through the process of how to apply a D&I science framework when planning to implement an evidence-based program/intervention, and illustrates the value of D&I science using a case example.
