On July 24–26, 2017, for the second consecutive year, the ACCP Board of Regents held its summer meeting in Washington, D.C. In addition to a typically full agenda, board members were delighted to host a reception for health policy leaders titled “Celebrating Partnerships for Patient Care.”
Consistent with the College’s focus on working with interested health care organizations, professional societies, and other policy and advocacy groups to promote a patient-centered, team-based approach to health care delivery, the reception brought together health policy leaders who share these goals to thank them and the College’s partner organizations for their contributions, which are helping to make ACCP a more vibrant and successful organization.
Noting the challenging political environment for health policy in Washington, D.C., ACCP president Marcia Buck commented to the group:
It brings me great pleasure to come together with friends and colleagues to celebrate our shared commitment to patient-centered and team-based care. We look forward to continuing and enhanced collaboration in the future in an environment that will make the ability to work effectively together to advance pharmacists’ practice more important than ever.
For the second consecutive year, the ACCP Board of Regents brought together key partner organizations in a “celebration of collaboration.” On a beautiful evening with views of the Capitol building, the event highlighted ACCP’s shared commitment to legislative, health policy, and regulatory measures that advance a collaborative and coordinated approach to patient care and achieve quality clinical outcomes and goals, through both medications and other therapeutic and preventive health care services.
