ACCP Foundation Congratulates the 2021 Futures Grants Awardees

The ACCP Foundation Frontiers Fund supports clinical pharmacy researcher development and research advancement. Through the Futures Grants program, the Foundation Board of Trustees is especially interested in supporting the development of research skills among students, trainees, and early-career ACCP members to establish sustained interest and careers in clinical pharmacy research.

Futures Grants applications were reviewed by an expert panel according to the program’s core review criteria. The ACCP Foundation congratulates the 2021 Futures Grants program awardees.

Junior Investigator Awards:

Alvira-Arill Gustavo Alvira-Arill, Pharm.D., Infectious Disease Pharmacy Fellow, University of Tennessee Health Science Center: “Variability of Biofilm Formation in Staphylococcal Species and Impact on Catheter-Related Bloodstream Infection Rates in Pediatric Patients Receiving Different Parenteral Lipid Formulations.” Mentor: Jeremy Stultz, Pharm.D.
Bui Lan Bui, Pharm.D., MPH, BCPS, Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice, McWhorter School of Pharmacy, Samford University: “Association of Opioid Utilization in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Opioid Prescriptions at Hospital Discharge in Opioid Naïve, Mechanical Ventilated Patients.” Mentor: Joshua Swan, Pharm.D., MPH
Gonzales-Luna Anne Jones Gonzales-Luna, Pharm.D., BCIDP, Research Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Translational Research, The University of Houston College of Pharmacy: “Vancomycin Resistance in Clostridioides difficile Infection.” Mentor: Kevin Garey, Pharm.D., M.S.
