Founded in 1981 to promote clinical pharmacy research, the ACCP Foundation (formerly, the ACCP Research Institute) now supports an expanded portfolio of programs designed to meet the growing needs of clinical pharmacists. ACCP recognizes that rigorous clinical research, skilled practitioners, and effective educators are vital to achieving its mission to improve human health. Therefore, ACCP members know better than anyone that even as the College continues to build strong research programs, it must also develop robust practices and a pipeline of faculty and preceptors to educate and train the next generation of clinical pharmacists. Achieving such progress rests in our hands.
The Foundation is once again scanning the pandemic/post-pandemic environment to ensure its strength in serving the evolving needs of clinical pharmacists. The Board of Trustees anticipates publishing an updated ACCP Foundation strategic plan in spring 2022.
In 2022, the Foundation will continue to offer successful programs like the Focused Investigator Training (FIT), Mentored Research Investigator Training (MeRIT), and Futures Grants programs, in addition to an expanded list of program options, for clinical pharmacists, trainees, and students.
