On May 29 and 30, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) hosted a public workshop, “Innovations in Pharmacy Training and Practice to Advance Patient Care.” Experts at this 2-day workshop discussed new models in which pharmacists have expanded roles in the health care delivery system, strategies for collaborative care environments that reduce clinician burnout, and next generation training and ways to eliminate pharmacy deserts.
Multiple ACCP members and leaders attended and participated in the workshop, including ACCP Executive Director Michael Maddux, members of the ACCP Board of Regents, and past and current NAM pharmacy fellows. ACCP would like to thank Past President Leigh Ann Ross and members Thomas Bateman, Marie Chisholm-Burns, and Jennifer Bacci for their time and efforts on the workshop planning committee.
Proceedings from the workshop will be published in the coming months, but in the meantime, the workshop slides and recording can be accessed here.
