We are pleased to announce that U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), representing her home state of Minnesota, will deliver a video message to attendees at the 2025 ACCP Annual Meeting on Sunday, October 19 at 9:45 a.m. CDT in Lakeshore, 1st Floor. Senator Klobuchar will share her perspective on health policy issues important to clinical pharmacy, including the Rebuild America’s Health Care Schools Act of 2025 (S. 1087).  

This legislation, which she co-sponsored earlier this year, aims to protect Medicare pass-through funding for pharmacy residencies, ensuring stability for postgraduate training programs that are essential to preparing the next generation of clinical pharmacists. 

Since 2019, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has implemented new auditing procedures for residency programs without updating its regulations or offering clear guidance. As a result, many programs have faced significant funding challenges. The introduction of S. 1087 reflects the growing recognition in Congress of the need to safeguard residency funding and protect the sustainability of the clinical pharmacy workforce.
