To inform evidence-based decision-making, the Vaccine Integrity Project recently released its independent 2026-2027 respiratory virus vaccine evidence review, evaluating the safety and effectiveness of vaccines for influenza, COVID-19, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). Drawing on hundreds of peer-reviewed studies published since its 2025 review, the assessment found that these vaccines continue to provide meaningful protection against severe illness, hospitalization, and death. The review also examined available safety data for any emerging concerns and found no new safety signals associated with currently recommended respiratory virus immunizations, further supporting their use during the upcoming respiratory virus season.
