ACCP’s On-Demand Review Services

Written by Victoria Miller, Pharm.D. Candidate 2020

When applying for a residency, employment, or other positions, two of the most vital components of the application is the curriculum vitae (CV) and letter of intent (LOI). Students often ask exactly what information to include in each and which formats are best. The CV and LOI provide an opportunity to make a positive impression by highlighting work experience, clinical experience, research projects, leadership opportunities, accomplishments, community service, and so much more to a future employer or selection committee. A well-constructed CV and LOI can illustrate candidates’ qualifications, strengths, passions, and diligence while distinguishing them from other candidates. Fortunately, ACCP has On Demand Review Services staffed by seasoned professionals for students to use during this process.

ACCP has offered its On Demand CV Review Service for over 10 years, while the On Demand LOI Review Service was just introduced earlier this year. ACCP student and postgraduate trainee members can submit their CV or LOI online as a PDF document through an online portal. A volunteer ACCP member-reviewer is then assigned, who will provide comments and/or edits within 10 business days by email. These services are available year-round to give students and trainees ample opportunity to seek guidance. ACCP provides additional resources for constructing CVs and LOIs on its website, through its Emerge from the Crowd program, and more.

All student members should strongly consider taking advantage of this service. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable feedback before submitting an application. For more information about ACCP's On Demand Review Services click on the links below.
