The Clinical Pharmacy Challenge (CPC) launched in 2010. This competition is geared towards students
in their third and fourth years of their professional pharmacy degree program. Teams of three students compete against teams from other schools
and colleges of pharmacy in a “quiz bowl”–type format. Preliminary rounds of the national competition are conducted virtually each September.
The quarterfinal, semifinal, and final rounds are held live at the ACCP Annual Meeting each October. All rounds consist of questions offered in
the three distinct segments: trivia/lightning, clinical case, and jeopardy-style.
The Clinical Research Challenge (CRC) began in 2016 This novel competition is targeted towards pharmacy students in their
first two years of their first professional pharmacy degree program. Critically evaluating and applying primary literature is an essential skill
for clinical pharmacists. Research and scholarship contributes to improved health outcomes for patients and advancements in the profession of
clinical pharmacy. This innovative and unique competition offers teams of three pharmacy students to participate in an online journal club, and
the opportunity to submit a letter of intent and a clinical research proposal.
