Nephrologic/Geriatric Care

An ACCP Publication

 

The latest release in ACCP’s Ambulatory Care Self-Assessment Program (ACSAP), Nephrologic/Geriatric Care, addresses common conditions encountered in daily practice by pharmacists caring for older adult patients and patients with renal diseases.

Released September 17, 2018, the book includes the following six chapters, by module:

  • Module I
    • Acute Kidney Injury
    • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • Module II
    • Renal Replacement Therapy in Chronic Kidney Disease
    • Polypharmacy
  • Module III
    • Neurocognitive Disorders
    • Falls in the Older Adult

As with other ACSAP releases, chapters appearing in Nephrologic/Geriatric Care are fully referenced. Hyperlinks provided throughout the text afford readers direct access to additional learning resources, including relevant clinical practice guidelines and consensus statements. Various features, including pivotal studies, patient care scenarios, and take-home points, highlight important evidence and practice pearls that can readily be integrated into clinical practice. Nephrologic/Geriatric Care offers a total of 14.5 continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit hours. Board-certified ambulatory care pharmacists (BCACPs) seeking specialty recertification credit may do so by successfully completing the associated tests until March 15, 2019. Pharmacists seeking CPE credit may do so by successfully completing the associated tests until September 14, 2019.
