Opportunities for 2021 Recertification Credit

There is still time to earn recertification credit before the end of the year. ACCP registers recertification credits with the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) as of the date of test submission. Therefore, any posttests successfully submitted before midnight (CST) on December 31 will earn 2021 credits.

Several ACCP products are currently available for board specialty recertification credit, many of which will still be available well into 2022. Posttests successfully submitted after January 1, 2022, will earn 2022 credits. Content and available recertification credit hours for selected current ACCP releases are as follows.

Pharmacotherapy

PSAP 2021 Book 3 (Chronic Conditions and Public Health) focuses on evidence-based updates in the management of chronic diseases, preventive medicine, and drug surveillance and monitoring systems. This book contains three learning modules offering up to 14.5 BCPS recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is March 15, 2022.
The 2021 Updates in Therapeutics®: Pharmacotherapy Preparatory Review and Recertification Course provides a comprehensive review of the knowledge domains covered in the pharmacotherapy specialty certification examination. This course can only be completed for recertification credit up to two times, in nonconsecutive years, during the 7-year recertification cycle. The 2021 course contains six modules offering up to 25.25 BCPS recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is May 17, 2022.
The Clinical Reasoning Series in Critical Care Pharmacy, 2021 Home Study Parts 1 & 2 reviews some of the current controversies in the treatment of patients and provides practical considerations in a practical, case-based approach. The program’s two main areas of focus are (1) the risk-benefit considerations of therapies that target inflammation and the immune system and (2) therapies that may be considered to prevent or treat complications of COVID-19 that involve the coagulation cascade. This program is approved for up to 6.0 BCCCP and/or BCPS recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is May 15, 2022.
The Clinical Reasoning Series in Pediatric Pharmacy, 2021 Home Study consists of Personalized Medicine: Leveraging Advanced Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Pharmacogenomics, Parts 1 & 2. The series offers up to 6.0 BCPPS and/or BCPS recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is November 15, 2022.
The September and December 2021 issues of JACCP include PSAP in JACCP features. The September feature consists of Part I: Interactive Case: Strategies for Antimicrobial Optimization and Part II: Statistics in Practice: Regression and Correlation, Part 2. This feature is available for up to 3.0 BCPS recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is March 8, 2022. The December feature consists of Part I: Interactive Case: Adverse Effects Associated with Antipsychotic Therapy and Part II: Statistics in Practice: Regression and Correlation, Part I. This feature is available for up to 3.0 BCPS recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is May 8, 2022. Purchase of each feature includes both parts. Part I (1.5 credits), Part II (1.5 credits), or both posttests can be submitted for credit.

Ambulatory Care Pharmacy*

ACSAP 2021 Book 2 (Women's and Men's Care) presents evidence-based updates on the management of conditions and disorders specific to women’s and men’s care. This book contains four learning modules offering up to 19.0 BCACP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is January 18, 2022.
ACSAP 2021 Book 3 (Oncology and Nephrology Care) presents evidence-based updates on the treatment of patients with conditions and disorders specific to oncology and nephrology. This book contains four learning modules offering up to 19.5 BCACP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is May 16, 2022.
The 2021 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Preparatory Review and Recertification Course provides a comprehensive review of the knowledge domains covered in the ambulatory care pharmacy specialty certification examination. This course can only be completed for recertification credit up to two times, in nonconsecutive years, during the 7-year recertification cycle. The 2021 course contains 19 modules offering up to 24.5 BCACP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is April 13, 2022.
The 2021 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Specialty Recertification Literature Study provides immediate access to peer-selected, contemporary articles relevant to ambulatory care pharmacy practice. The literature study contains two modules: Module 1A: Updates and Innovations in Glucose-Lowering Drugs and Module 1B: Future Forward – Topics in Ambulatory Care Pharmacy. This product offers up to 8.0 BCACP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is April 29, 2022.
The 2021 ACCP/ASHP BCACP Clinical Sessions explore cutting-edge, contemporary therapeutic topics and demonstrate scientifically sound clinical reasoning and decision-making. Each presentation focuses on a highly relevant ambulatory care pharmacy topic for use in day-to-day practice. Topics include impacts of ageism, non-dialysis chronic kidney disease, stroke risk with direct oral anticoagulants, and opioid use disorder. This product will contain four modules offering up to 6.0 BCACP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is December 15, 2022.

Cardiology Pharmacy*

CardSAP 2021 Book 2 (Arrythmias and Thrombosis) provides evidence-based updates for pharmacists caring for cardiology patients subject to special circumstances. This book contains four modules offering up to 20.0 BCCP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is May 16, 2022.
The 2021 Cardiology Pharmacy Preparatory Review and Recertification Course provides a comprehensive review of the knowledge domains covered in the cardiology pharmacy specialty certification examination. This course can only be completed for recertification credit up to two times, in nonconsecutive years, during the 7-year recertification cycle. The 2021 course contains 16 modules offering up to 24.0 BCCP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is June 23, 2022.
The 2021 Cardiology Pharmacy Specialty Recertification Literature Study provides immediate access to peer-selected, contemporary articles relevant to cardiology pharmacy practice. The literature study contains two modules: Module 1A: Updates in Atrial Fibrillation and Antithrombotics in Valvular and Peripheral Vascular Disease and Module 1B: Heart Failure/Cardiovascular Outcomes. This product offers up to 8.0 BCCP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is April 19, 2022.

Critical Care Pharmacy

CCSAP 2021 Book 2 (Acute Organ Dysfunction and Special Populations) provides evidence-based updates and best practice insights for pharmacists caring for critically ill patients. This book contains three modules offering up to 22.0 BCCCP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is March 15, 2022.

Geriatric Pharmacy*

The 2021 Geriatric Pharmacy Preparatory Review and Recertification Course provides a comprehensive review of the knowledge domains covered in the geriatric pharmacy specialty certification examination. This course can only be completed for recertification credit up to two times, in nonconsecutive years, during the 7-year recertification cycle. The 2021 course contains 12 modules offering up to 23.0 BCGP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is April 12, 2022.
The 2021 Geriatric Pharmacy Specialty Selected Readings: Evaluation and Management of Chronic Kidney Disease and Urologic Disorders in Older Adults reviews pertinent topics, practices required skills, and provides references to helpful study resources on recent guidelines and current approaches to the management of declining renal function, chronic kidney disease (CKD), urinary incontinence, and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in older adults. This activity offers up to 3.0 BCGP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is April 19, 2022.
The 2021 BCGP ACCP/ASHP Clinical Sessions explore cutting-edge, contemporary therapeutic topics and demonstrate scientifically sound clinical reasoning and decision-making. Each presentation focuses on a highly relevant geriatric pharmacy care topic for use in day-to-day practice. Infectious Diseases Pharmacy*

IDSAP 2021 Book 2 (Cardiopulmonary Infections) focuses on evidence-based strategies for the management of complex cardiovascular and pulmonary infections. This book contains four modules offering up to 17.0 BCIDP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is May 16, 2022.
The 2021 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Preparatory Review and Recertification Course provides a comprehensive review of the knowledge domains covered in the infectious diseases pharmacy specialty certification examination. This course can only be completed for recertification credit up to two times, in nonconsecutive years, during the 7-year recertification cycle. The 2021 course contains 15 modules offering up to 25.0 BCIDP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is June 21, 2022.

Oncology Pharmacy*

The 2021 Oncology Pharmacy Preparatory Review and Recertification Course provides a comprehensive review of the knowledge domains covered in the oncology pharmacy specialty certification examination. This course can only be completed for recertification credit up to two times, in nonconsecutive years, during the 7-year recertification cycle. The 2021 course contains 20 modules offering up to 25.75 BCOP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is April 12, 2022.
The 2021 Oncology Pharmacy Specialty Home Study Syllabus for Recertification, Volume 2 is a collection of journal articles that focus on advances across the four domains of oncology pharmacy specialty practice. Topics in this volume include breast cancer, gynecologic malignancies, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, lung cancer, acute leukemias and myelodysplastic syndrome, lymphomas, and prostate cancer. This volume contains two modules offering up to 8.0 BCOP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is March 15, 2022.
The Teh BCOP Webinar Series: Targeting Lung Cancer with a Focus 2021 Webinar Recording provides updates on non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) targets. This webinar offers up to 1.5 BCOP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is May 10, 2022.
The Oncology Guideline, Drug, and Publication Update 2021 Webinar Recording covers the most critical guideline updates from ASCO and NCCN, reviews the most critical publications of interest to BCOPs, and briefly highlights new drug indications and approvals since May 2021.
