Opportunities for 2019 Recertification Credit

There is still time to earn recertification credit before the end of the year. ACCP registers recertification credits with the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) as of the date of test submission. This means that any posttests successfully submitted before midnight (CST) on December 31 will earn 2019 credits.

ACCP has several products currently available for board specialty recertification credit. Many of these products will be available for recertification credit through the first quarter of 2019. Posttests successfully submitted after January 1 will earn 2020 credits. Content and available recertification credit hours for select current ACCP releases are as follows:

Pharmacotherapy

PSAP 2019 Book 3 (Endocrinology and Nephrology) focuses on evidence-based management strategies incorporating new clinical trial data and clinical guideline information on endocrine- and nephrology-related diseases. The central theme is the application of evidence-based guidelines to patient care and individualization of pharmacotherapy to meet unique patient needs. This book contains four learning modules offering up to 22.0 BCPS recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is March 16, 2020.
The Clinical Reasoning Series in Pharmacotherapy, 2019 Homestudy Edition: It's All in the Head: Updates in Neuropsychiatric Pharmacotherapy in the Big and Small consists of two educational activities: one addressing substance abuse and the second addressing headache/migraine. Each activity discusses treatment strategies in adults and provides guidance on treating pediatric, adolescent, and peripartum patients. This program is approved for up to 6.0 hours of recertification credit for BCPSs and/or BCPPSs. The recertification test deadline is May 15, 2020.
The 2019 Updates Plus in Pharmacotherapy Webinar Recordings webinar provides an overview of major guidelines released between spring 2019 and October 1, 2019. This webinar offers up to 2.0 BCPS recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is May 6, 2020.
The December 2019 issue of JACCP includes PSAP in JACCP: Complex Management of Atrial Fibrillation. This interactive case has been developed for pharmacotherapy specialists and advanced-level clinical pharmacists caring for patients with atrial fibrillation. Complete the interactive case in JACCP and then purchase the self-assessment test to earn up to 1.5 BCPS recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is June 9, 2020.

Ambulatory Care Pharmacy*

ACSAP 2019 Book 2 (Infection Primary Care) presents evidence-based updates on managing drug therapy for ambulatory care patients with infectious diseases. Book modules cover treatment guidelines from a variety of organizations and publications, as well as nonpharmacologic remedies. This book contains three learning modules offering up to 13.5 BCACP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is January 15, 2020.

ACSAP 2019 Book 3 (Neurologic Care and Pain Management) presents evidence-based updates on managing drug therapy and preventing drug-related harms for patients with complex medical needs related to pain, addiction, and other neurologic problems. This book contains three learning modules offering up to 11.5 BCACP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is May 15, 2020.

The 2018 2019 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Specialty Recertification Literature Study: Module 1A–B provides immediate access to peer-selected, contemporary articles relevant to ambulatory care pharmacy practice. The literature study contains two modules: Module 1A: Primary Prevention in Cardiovascular Disease and Module 1B: Implementation Science. This product offers up to 8.0 BCACP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is April 21, 2020.
BCACP Clinical Sessions, 2019 Edition will be available Wednesday, December 18. The sessions will explore cutting-edge, contemporary therapeutic topics and demonstrate scientifically sound clinical reasoning and decision-making. T he 2019 sessions will include hot topics in managing diabetes in the older adult, applying the 2019 ACC/AHA cholesterol guidelines, and understanding the JNC 8 versus the 2017 ACC/AHA hypertension guidelines. This product will contain four modules offering up to 6.0 BCACP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is June 17, 2020.

Cardiology Pharmacy*

CardSAP 2019 Book 2 (Special Populations) provides evidence-based updates for pharmacists caring for cardiology patients within a defined population or cardiology patients subject to special circumstances. This book contains four modules offering up to 15.0 BCCP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is May 15, 2020.

Critical Care Pharmacy

CCSAP 2019 Book 2 (Surgical Patients in the ICU) provides evidence-based updates and best practice insights for pharmacists caring for critically ill surgical patients. This book contains four modules offering up to 21.0 BCCCP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is March 16, 2020.
Clinical Reasoning Series in Critical Care Pharmacy, 2019 Home Study Edition: Managing Cardiovascular Therapies in the Critically Ill contains recorded presentations on many topics, including acute heart failure and related support strategies, atrial fibrillation, thrombosis management, coagulopathies, hemorrhagic emergencies, and anticoagulation reversal. Each activity discusses treatment strategies and the application of skills to knowledge in developing management plans. The series is divided into two parts, offering up to 6.0 BCCCP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is May 15, 2020.

Geriatric Pharmacy*

Geriatric Pharmacy Specialty Selected Readings: Polypharmacy and Medication Management in the Elderly consists of a review of pertinent topics, practice of required skills, and references to helpful study resources on recent guidelines and current approaches to managing central nervous system disorders in older adults. This activity offers up to 3.0 BCGP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is April 21, 2020.
BCGP Clinical Sessions, 2019 Edition will be available Wednesday, December 18. The sessions will explore cutting-edge, contemporary therapeutic topics and demonstrate scientifically sound clinical reasoning and decision-making. The 2019 sessions will include topics such as complementary and alternative medicine, management of diabetes in the older adult, application of the 2018 ACC/AHA cholesterol guidelines, and differences in the JNC 8 versus the 2017 ACC/AHA hypertension guidelines. This product will contain four modules offering up to 5.0 BCGP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is June 17, 2020.

Infectious Diseases Pharmacy*

IDSAP 2019 Book 2 (Special Populations) focuses on evidence-based management strategies for preventing and managing drug-resistant gram-negative infections. This book contains three modules offering up to 13.5 BCIDP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is May 15, 2020.

Oncology Pharmacy*

2019 Oncology Pharmacy Specialty Home Study Syllabus for Recertification, Volume 2 is a collection of journal articles that focus on advances across the four domains of oncology specialty practice. Topics in this volume include acute leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, prostate cancer, NTRK therapy, pediatric cancer, lung cancer, and breast cancer. This volume contains two modules offering up to 9.0 BCOP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is January 28, 2020.
The Oncology Guideline, Drug, and Publication Update 2019 Webinar Recording covers the most critical guideline updates from ASCO and NCCN, reviews the most critical publications of interest to BCOPs, and briefly highlights new drug indications and approvals since April 2019. This webinar offers up to 1.5 BCOP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is April 14, 2020.
BCOP Clinical Sessions, 2019 Edition will be available Wednesday, December 18. The sessions will explore cutting-edge, contemporary therapeutic topics and demonstrate scientifically sound clinical reasoning and decision-making. The 2019 sessions will include anticoagulation therapy and immune checkpoint inhibitors. This product will contain two modules offering up to 4.0 BCOP recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is June 17, 2020.

Pediatric Pharmacy

PedSAP 2019 Book 2 (Transplantation) presents evidence-based updates for treating pediatric transplant recipients. This book contains three modules offering up to 17.5 BCPPS recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is March 16, 2020.
The 2019 Updates in Therapeutics®: Pediatric Pharmacy Preparatory Review and Recertification Course provides a comprehensive review of the knowledge domains covered in the pediatric pharmacy specialty certification examination. This course may only be completed for recertification credit up to two times, in nonconsecutive years, during the 7-year recertification cycle. The 2019 course contains six modules offering up to 21.0 BCPPS recertification credits. The recertification test deadline is July 16, 2020.
