Curriculum vitae (CV) and letter of intent (LOI) are two vital components of a strong application to residency programs and employment positions. Without the guarantee of face-to-face networking and interview opportunities this year, making a positive first impression with the CV and LOI are more important than ever. Both pieces of the application are an opportunity to highlight work experience, clinical experience, research projects, leadership opportunities, accomplishments, and community service. In addition to the importance of content to positively highlight an applicant, formatting is critical during employer or selection committee review. Small formatting mistakes can immediately put an applicant at a disadvantage. Together with careful consideration of content and formatting, eliciting feedback from a reviewer is beneficial in creating an outstanding CV or LOI.

ACCP offers both an On-Demand CV Review Service and an On-Demand LOI Review Service. Student and postgraduate trainee ACCP members can submit their CV or LOI online as a PDF document through an online portal on the ACCP website. After submission, an ACCP member reviews and provides comments and/or edits within 10 business days by e-mail. These services are available year-round to allow students and trainees ample opportunity to seek feedback and improve their CV and LOI before residency and employment applications.
