Ambulatory care clinical pharmacists are often responsible for recognizing and managing common psychiatric and neurologic conditions. Neurologic/Psychiatric Care presents evidence-based updates on the management of a variety of neuropsychiatric illnesses, providing practical information regarding diagnosis, recommended treatments, and associated toxicities. Treatment guidelines from a variety of organizations and publications were considered and integrated into these modules, and nonpharmacologic remedies are summarized as well.

Patrick R. Finley, Pharm.D., BCPP

The book contains three learning modules with a total available 13.0 continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits. The content of Neurologic/Psychiatric Care was developed under the leadership of Faculty Panel Chair Patrick R. Finley, Pharm.D., BCPP.

Chapters in the first module focus on generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and bipolar disorder. The second module contains chapters covering the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD and issues associated with opioid abuse and overdose. The third module is devoted to neurological conditions, specifically, the treatment of epilepsy and the management of chronic pain conditions.
